Use and publish skills in Firm brain

Browse built-in procedures, create or import firm skills, and understand drafts, published versions, and execution limits.

In this guide

Firm brain → Skills is a repository of procedures. Built-in skills describe Mendiola's connected workflows; firm-authored skills hold your own instructions. Members read published versions, while admins manage drafts and publication.

Find a procedure

Open Firm brain, stay on Skills, and use search or the category filter. Open a skill to read when to use it, its instructions, inputs and outputs, review checkpoints, and verification criteria.

Built-in guides describe workflows such as purchase vouching, document handoff, spreadsheet intake, audit-risk screening, POS sales reports, and closing review where those features are available. Their presence is not proof that a workflow is enabled for every company.

Create or import a skill

Built-in workflow skills listed in Firm brain using a synthetic demo firm

Synthetic demonstration. The available built-in workflows depend on the product version.

An admin can create a skill or import Markdown instructions or a supported version-one JSON package. Review the content, fill the required fields, and save a draft.

Markdown imports remain instructions, not executable code. Imports cannot grant tools, claim a built-in identity, connect a workflow, or publish themselves.

Publish the reviewed version

Each save creates a numbered revision. Choose the saved version intended for the team and publish it. Members see the published revision; a newer draft remains admin-only until published.

If another admin saved or published meanwhile, Mendiola reports a conflict. Keep your submitted text, read the latest version, and reconcile the difference before saving again. Published revisions are not silently rewritten.

Publishing does not run a skill

Firm-authored skills show Not connected. Publishing does not execute the procedure, grant access to books, enable automatic sending, or configure an AI provider. Connected built-in workflows remain controlled by code, company settings, and access rules.

Use the export action to obtain the portable content package. It contains instructions, not credentials, an executable rule engine, or permission to operate a company.

Keep shared procedures appropriate

Write firm procedures without embedding owner-private company evidence or credentials. Firm-created and imported skills stay in their own firm. Only platform-published shared skills are shared across firms, and publishing still grants no execution authority.
