Track filings and payment confirmations

Use the Compliance board and company Tax filings page without confusing a filed return with confirmed payment.

In this guide

Compliance follows filing work across the active firm's accessible companies. Tax filings shows the detail for one company. The same underlying statuses are used in both places.

Set up the obligations

An admin selects the company's applicable tax forms in Company settings → Tax forms, checks its financial-year and filing settings, and maintains the Juan connection. A company with no forms configured is not established to have no obligations.

Review a return

  1. Open the company's Tax filings page and select the intended year.
  2. Find the form and period, and check the displayed due date.
  3. Read its filing status separately from its payment status.
  4. Open the documents to inspect the return and supporting confirmations.
  5. Use the offered manual filing or payment action only when you have the evidence it requests.

The workflow can combine synchronized Juan records with a person's recorded filing confirmation. A return being Ready to file or Sent to client is not yet proof of filing. Filed · amendment ready indicates a filing already exists while an amendment is being prepared.

Filed and paid are different

Mendiola does not treat Juan's Filed and paid label alone as payment evidence. A manually marked filing in Juan can carry that label regardless of what happened to the tax payment.

Payment is confirmed when it was disbursed through Juan, or when a person records the confirmation in Mendiola. Payment not confirmed is a separate status. It does not say that payment was never made, and it is not itself an overdue-filing finding.

For a filed return without a usable tax-due figure, Mendiola may not be able to determine a payment status. Read the detail rather than treating a dash as “paid.”

Keep the evidence together

Use the return's documents dialog for copies of the return, payment confirmation, and BIR confirmation or email where upload is offered. Earlier and cancelled versions remain distinguishable from the current record.

Marking a status records evidence about an act done elsewhere. It does not file a return with the BIR or make a bank payment.

Dates and missing data

Periods follow the company's relevant calendar and financial year. The year a period belongs to can differ from the year its return falls due. Check the period dates before comparing two rows.

If records look incomplete, check forms setup, the last filing sync, and any connection error. Do not mark a return filed merely to remove it from a watch list.
