Follow closing progress across companies
Configure monitoring, choose a closing cadence, request review, and read the firm's Closing board.
In this guide
Accountants close the books in Juan. Mendiola records where each company's period stands and helps the firm follow review and sign-off. It does not perform an automated accounting close.
Configure monitoring
An admin opens Company settings → Closing for an active company and sets:
- Whether closing is monitored.
- Monthly, quarterly, or annual cadence.
- The first monitored period.
- Whether assigned staff may perform closing reviews.
- The company's own review materiality, or Mendiola's default.
Custom materiality requires both a percentage and a peso amount. Leaving both unset uses Mendiola's default, currently 10% and ₱10,000. These are review settings, not legal thresholds. A reviewer can still choose a different materiality for one review, and the review identifies when it is looser than the company's own.
Understand the periods
Only ended periods are offered for review acts. Dates are interpreted in Manila. Quarters and years follow the company's financial year; they need not be calendar quarters and years.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | No current request or sign-off establishes the period as closed |
| Review requested | Someone with access says the books are ready and asks for review |
| In review | An eligible reviewer started a closing review |
| Signed off | An admin recorded sign-off |
Request a review
Open the company's Closing page, select an ended monitored period, and use the review-request action. Add the offered note and confirm. Anyone who can operate the company can request; starting the actual review needs reviewer permission.
Read the firm's board
Open Closing from the firm workspace. Each company row shows its latest ended period and the five before it as dots. The tiles describe companies by their latest period; filters help find open periods and earlier periods still awaiting sign-off.
The CSV follows the visible board and selected filter. Your assignments and owner-private access determine which companies appear. Archived companies are excluded. A missing Closing navigation item can mean that no company visible to you has monitoring enabled.
Stop monitoring
An admin can turn monitoring off without erasing prior period acts. Archiving also removes the company from the active board. Turning monitoring back on or restoring the company does not erase its history.
